His Arm Patch Kit allows you to easily install arm patches into Rogue Spear. You can also click on an arm patch that you downloaded in a directory tree and preview it right in the program (and click on it to shoot it :). This program is a definite must for an arm patch crazy person.

The other program Vandamme created is the Character Creator. This program has it all. Every option can be edited. It also has a really neat screen where you can see all the in-game textures that you're going to use, and what they should look like so you can easily get the texture just right! Download the Character Creator here. And after you get the Character Creator, be sure to get the Character Installer as well so you can properly install the character created by the Character Creator.

The Rogue Spear Retreat pointed out this important detail from Joe Sauder's designer log (updated March 2nd):

One important decision that we've had to make, after doing this kind of testing, is to remove proximity mines from the game. I'm sad to see them go (I spent many a late night working on them), but at the same time, I'm kind of glad to see them go. Camping is always a concern in multiplayer games, because it can grind down the flow of gameplay to a halt. But, at least if you're camping with a sniper rifle or something, you still have to pay attention to what is happening around you. With prox mines, on the other hand, you could simply put down a few of them, and go hide in a corner somewhere. If you killed someone with your mine, you'd probably never know it, and it sure wouldn't have been due to any skill on your part! Also, the person who got killed was typically left with a rather frustrated feeling, since they were killed by this automatic device, rather than by another player. So there you have it, prox mines are history.

Bridging the gap between fiction and real-world special operations, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Covert Operations Essentials is an exciting overview covering the subject of counter-terrorism from 1970 until the present. Covert Ops will contain video interviews with top experts in the field, as well as photos and video footage of weapons and equipment, along with a description of situations where they are typically used. A special "Making of Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear" section is an added bonus. Players will also be able to test their skills and knowledge through interactive "Officer Candidate School" testing, as well as by playing the specially created game levels.
