PLOT
It has long been known that the Russian Mafia has a huge control over the country. One Don, Samed Veziroz, has recently struck oil in the Caspian Sea. He despises the Western countries, and dreams of ruling the world. With his newfound millions from the oil, he decides to look for a way to make all his dreams come true.
He decides to start backing a young Mafia Boss, Maksim Kondrashov. Maksim has only recently joined the Mob scene, and is mistrusted by all the older dons. He is incredibly ambitious, and decides to take action both to impress the other dons and keep his source of income, Vezirov, pleased. Needless to say, it's your job to stop the Mafia by all means necessary.
FEATURES
Rainbow Six was filled with lots of great features never before seen in a
first-person shooter. Rainbow Six's features were also very realistic, but
there's always things people don't like. The development team at Red Storm
Entertainment went through hundreds, probably even thousands of E-Mails,
newsgroup messages and more to see what the people liked and disliked about
Rainbow Six. They got E-Mails on suggestions of better game play, maps, weapons
and a lot more. Red Storm listened, and most of the new features in Rogue Spear
are from feedback suggestions.
-
New Artificial Intelligence. There were so many changes to the AI that the
development started the new AI from scratch. Expect smarter, and dumber
enemies, just like they would be in real life. If an enemies hears gunshots,
footsteps or any other disturbance, he might simply walk around and
suspiciously look around and go back about his business, or he might panic and
come firing at you, or he may shoot a hostage if one is near. With the new AI,
the enemies are a lot less predictable and you'll have to take more caution and
eliminate him as soon as possible. AI has also been improved with you
team-mates. You will no longer get stuck on the stairs or in a narrow hallway
because of a teammate being in the way.
-
New Rendering Engine. Rogue Spear's new rendering engine allows for more
realistic characters, weapons and scenery. The new rendering also allows for
more detail in the environment. There will be an option on how many bullet
holes the game can handle at once. So guys with Pentium III 500's and a TNT2
can choose to have more bullet holes active at once than a slower system.
Grenades will also leave marks on the ground and door breaches stay in place.
The wounded will also show more realistic effects than in Rainbow Six.
-
Interactive Environments. The environment in the game will be a lot more
interactive than it was in Rainbow Six. Frag Grenades wont only blow up doors
and windows, they will also be able to blow up furniture and many other
objects. Frag Grenades, as I said above, will also leave burn mark on walls and
floors. You will also be able to blow up furniture, shoot out tires and bust
computers.
-
More Realistic Wound Effects. In Rainbow Six, your screen would flash a quick
red and you'd get out of the way and your safe again. But in Rogue Spear when
this happens you might be limping from then on, or have a wounded arm and
aiming would be off, or you may reload slower.
-
More realistic weapon physics. Bullets will now lose energy as they travel.
Different Ammo types will have different effects. Further away enemies will
result in a less effective shot. Bullets may go through more than one person,
doors, or small objects.
-
More realistic armor effects. Bullets will give the your character a "stun"
effect. He may not get wounded because he has armor, but he'll feel the bullet
hit him.
-
Full Sniper Support. You can now assign snipers to your team to give you back
up from above or simply remove any targets he/she sees. Rogue Spear will
include sniper weapons, special planning and action & action phase controls for
snipers.
-
Different ammo types. Rifles will have different types of ammo you can choose
from. JHP (Jacketed Hollow Point) and FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) can be chosen for
the rifles. Shotguns can be packed with buckshot, slugs and rubber baton rounds.
-
Weather Effects. On certain maps it may be raining and this will make your
mission hard by reducing visibility. On snow maps you will also be able to
dress your guys in really cool, white snow uniforms.
